- This is Charles L. Chatmon a former English teacher and author of two books of poetry, The Depths of My Soul and The Voices of South Central. As a freelance writer, I’ve contributed to local college and community newspapers in addition to a few start up magazines. Currently I’m finishing up two new books, Poems From A Man's Heart and Storm Over South Central due out later 2008. I’ve appeared on local cable shows such as Spending a Little Time With Poetry and Literary Speak and have appeared on several internet radio shows. I’m also the co-host of Mixed Matters, an internet radio show featuring up and coming authors on their latest and greatest on the North Bay Media Review.com’s website along with video interviews with Empire Beat Magazine. I’m also one of the co-founders of the California Writers Collective (CWC). In July 2006 I was named the Literary World.org’s Author of the Month and since September 2006 I have served as the executive director of the Los Angeles Black Book Expo.
